Meet the Doctors
Kathryn Allyson Bohlman was born in Gulfport, Mississippi. She became interested in Optometry at the early age of 8 years old. Her family moved to Houston, Texas during her sophomore year in High School. She continued to pursue a career in eye care by attending University of Houston where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She was then accepted at the University Of Houston College Of Optometry, graduating in 1987 with a doctorate in Optometry with a special interest in pediatrics. She and her husband, Hal, have 2 children, Sarah and Tyler.
Samuel E. Cox initially went to Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute and became a Journeyman Electrician. He worked in a uranium mine before joining the Army in 1980. He served with the 82nd Airborne for 3 years, and then enrolled in his undergraduate studies at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was accepted to Northeastern State University College of Optometry, where he graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 1989. He’s enjoyed practicing in Johnson City for over 25 years. He has 7 children, 5 grand children and is happily married. In his spare time he enjoys training for the Ironman competitions.
